Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch Job Announcement - Provincetown, MA
Seasonal, Full-Time Naturalist Assistant - Summer 2020
Qualifications:
• College education with a preference in natural sciences
• Working knowledge of boats and experience working on open water
• People oriented and strong communication/public speaking skills
• Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups of people and handling a
microphone
• Education experience and/or previous marine mammal intern
• Strong work ethic and team-oriented skills
Requirements:
• Must pass pre-employment and random USCG Drug Testing
• Must be able to work long hours daily and 40+ hours a week
• Must have reliable transportation and ability to find housing on Cape Cod
Job Responsibilities: Naturalists are expected to educate, inform, and
monitor all passengers during our 3-4-hour whale watching tours. You will
be responsible for presenting information on whales, marine mammals, birds,
general ecology, and whale watching guidelines. The goal of a naturalist
assistant is to always have a presence on the deck of the boat available
for passenger questions and education in addition to the head naturalist
running the trip. This position will strictly be on board our two largest
vessels: Dolphin 11 and Dolphin 8.
