[SEMCO] REMINDER: UPCOMING WORKSHOP: CREATING A SPACE FOR WOMEN OF COLOR IN MARINE SCIENCES

We would like to invite you to participate in a workshop on Thursday, December 3 from 6-8:30 p.m., centered around “Creating a Space for Women of Color in Marine Sciences,” tailored to the New England marine science setting. The workshop will be facilitated by three female marine biologists of color from A WOC Space <https://awocspace.com/> and is designed to provide participants with active tools to foster more diversity and inclusivity in our field. This interactive workshop is capped at 50 participants and open to any marine scientist in Massachusetts. The workshop format is as follows:
• Examining Historical Trends
• The Current State of Diversity
• Scenarios and Role Playing
• A WOC Goal Setting
• Establishing a Community of Practice and Identifying Local Resources
