Our 2019-20 Data Jam is wrapping up, but the projects are so great, we want
more students to have the opportunity to try. Announcing the Spring 2020
Mini Jam! brought to you by the makers of the Northeast US Ecosystems Data
Jam. Check it out! NES-LTER Schoolyard Mini Data Jam
<https://sites.google.com/view/nes-lter-schoolyard-datajam>
Data Jammers immerse themselves in authentic, locally relevant data sets
that have been collected in and around the region by professional
scientists. It's like a science fair project, only we provide the data. And
to communicate their interpretations, they create a graphic, song, video,
sculpture, computer game, puppet show, children's book, or whatever! Their
imagination is the limit!
>From a recent teacher participant in the big Data Jam:

*"Watching my students work in their groups to try to figure out what the
data was about and then debate how they were going to present their ideas
was a great learning experience in how to let go and let inquiry happen. I
was just telling another teacher about how fun it was!" * M. Sorrows,
Luther Burbank MS

All of the details are online, all of the data is online, all of the
submission is online. Students can work in groups (online) or with their
family members at home. It's ideal!
Pre-registration (indicating interest) by Apr 30, submission by Jun 1,
judging completed by Jun 20-- or make your own schedule that fits within
those parameters.
