Scientists, graduate students, educators, planners, and others working in marine-related fields are invited to inspire the next generation by presenting hands-on workshops or table demonstrations to high school students.

This year, we will be hosting one event:

The event will feature:

  *   Hands-on workshop sessions
  *   Ocean science education fair
  *   Keynote presentation by a special guest
Past workshop topics have included:

  *   Marine debris
  *   Marine mammal anatomy
  *   Addressing environmental issues
  *   Marine animal rescue and rehabilitation
  *   Climate change communication, and many more!

What are the presenter opportunities?

Individuals or teams of presenters are invited to participate in one or both* of two different types of presenter opportunities:

*If your organization/group would like to do both, please plan to send at least two presenters, as both workshops and table demos occur concurrently.


  1.   Deliver three, back-to-back, 40-minute, hands-on workshops to groups of ~20 students
  2.  Deliver an interactive demonstration or activity at a table, with students circulating between a series of tables throughout each session
*Please note that both opportunities require a hands-on component. Please do not plan a lecture or discussion based presentation.

What is the Schedule for the Day?

The event schedule is below. During the sessions students will be attending two workshops, and during a third session will circulate between the table demos, meeting and networking with presenters like you! Workshops will conclude by ~12:20. All presenters will be provided with a light breakfast and lunch, but staying for lunch is not required.
