The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has extended the deadline to the application period for the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).<https://www.mass.gov/service-details/hazard-mitigation-grant-program-hmgp> Please share this announcement!

The new deadline is July 12 2019 .

HMGP grants can be used for:

*       Voluntary acquisition of floodprone homes

*       Upsizing of culverts, road armoring, soil stabilization, possible stream restoration (as long as it reduces flood losses)

*       Localized stormwater drainage project

*       Hazard mitigation planning

*       Elevation of homes and buildings in the floodplain

*       Dry-floodproofing of commercial or historic structures

*       Wildfire mitigation activities

*       And more...
