NATURE PROGRAM FOR ADULTS EXPLORES THE SALT MARSH
The Thornton Burgess Nature Program for adults explores a variety of
naturalist topics on the first Saturday of the month through December from
10am-12pm. Just as Burgess's interests were as broad and diverse as the
wildlife he chronicled in his stories, so does this program explore a wide
range of natural history topics. Join us on Saturday, July 6, to explore
the salt marsh habitat surrounding Scorton Creek in East Sandwich led by
Master Naturalist Nancy Wigley. The walk will focus on the history, the
plants and the animals of the salt marsh, as well as the surrounding coastal
forests. Foot-wear that can get wet is encouraged to be able to get into
the creek and explore. Meet at the entrance to the Game Farm property on
Route 6A. Binoculars, bug spray and a hat are recommended. Fee is $20, and
advance registration is required online at www.thorntonburgess.org
