[SEMCO] Waquoit Bay Reserve Performance tonight - Rain or Shine

Performance will go on rain or shine!  We'll move into the Visitor Center if the weather doesn't cooperate!

The Waquoit Bay Research Reserve's Evenings on the Bluff hosts 2-time Grammy nominated, artist, The ZYG 808 performing his special brand of Hip-Hop Jazz along with members of The GroovaLottos on Tuesday, July 23rd at 6:30PM overlooking beautiful Waquoit Bay.

The ZYG 808, an accomplished jazz percussionist, composer, and spoken-word artist, ZYG (pronounced Zee Why Gee) played his first studio session at age 7 and headlined the Boston Jazz Fest at age 11. He got the nickname "808" after the classic TR-808 drum machine, for his ability to simultaneously rap and play the drums. Last year his songs "The Concerto" and "Explanation" received Grammy consideration in the rap category. He became the percussionist for The GroovaLottos two years ago and has been performing and touring with the band regularly ever since. The ZYG 808 is a junior and honor student at Mashpee Middle High School.

The GroovaLottos is a powerhouse soul-funk-blues trio comprised of Native American veterans of the music business, their music is a blend of traditional and original soul and blues songs, storytelling and musicianship. Their debut single, "Do You Mind...?" is #5 on the Indie Blues Charts.

The Reserve's headquarters is located at 131 Waquoit Highway (Route 28). Bring a chair, blanket, and a picnic dinner and enjoy the view and the film.
