Our partners at MA Department of Fish and Game (DFG) have announced a grant program which can restore and enhance aquatic resource areas such as wetlands, marshes, streams, etc. The In Lieu Fee (ILF) Program<https://www.mass.gov/in-lieu-fee-program> is seeking pre-proposals for aquatic resource enhancement, restoration and/or preservation projects; including:


*        restoring and/or preserving in-kind aquatic functions

*        mitigation for wetlands impacts and protection

*        enhancement of rare species habitat

*        restore degraded habitat and enhance resiliency to climate change

Projects funded by the ILF program may also have flood hazard mitigation or flood risk reduction benefits to the watershed or neighborhood and therefore consider this as a possible funding source when developing actions for your local hazard mitigation plan or municipality vulnerability plans.  See the project examples attached for an outline of recently funded ILF activities.

Hi Sarah,

I wanted to let you know that DFG's In-Lieu Fee (ILF) Program put out an RFP for aquatic resource mitigation projects. You and I had talked last year about some potential synergies between our funding programs.

Here is a summary below, and the Request for Pre-proposals (RFP) is attached along with a summary of approved ILF project examples.

The MA Department of Fish and Game (DFG) In Lieu Fee (ILF) Program is seeking pre-proposals for aquatic resource preservation, restoration and/or enhancement projects. Massachusetts cities, towns, state agencies, academic institutions, certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, and other public entities may apply.
Pre-proposals are due by August 30, 2019.

Please see the RFP for information on project eligibility, available funding and priorities in the ILF Program Service Areas. An application form is included in the RFP.
