The open house will feature touch tables with turtle shells and skulls, a craft table for kids, family-friendly sea turtle games and more. Learn more about sea turtles and why they strand on the beaches of Cape Cod in the late fall, and get a behind-the-scenes look at rescue efforts. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions. Additional programming includes:

1:30-2 PM: Creature Feature: Turtles of Cape Cod-Meet the shelled creatures of the sanctuary and learn about the fascinating lives of turtles. This program is geared toward families.

2:30-3 PM: Lecture: Ecology of Sea Turtles in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean-Join Coonamessett Farm Foundation (CFF) Sea Turtle Biologist Samir Patel for a look at CFF's sea turtle research. This presentation will feature underwater footage from camera tags deployed on leatherbacks and from remotely operated vehicle (ROV) observations of loggerheads.
