The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History presents

 Naturescape Gallery

Cape Cod Night Photography

With Photographer Timothy Little

BREWSTER, MA — Naturescape Gallery at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is proud to present “Cape Cod Night Photography” by photographer Timothy Little July 1 ~ August 31, 2018. *

Timothy is a Cape Cod based photographer specializing in night photography and light painting.  Light painting is an imaging technique that uses a moving light source to add light to an under-illuminated subject while taking a long-exposure photograph. A scene or object can be brought to life by painting with a beam of light, which is spectacularly evident in Little’s images. He’s spent much of the last fifteen years photographing moonlit and starry skies along the Cape’s National Seashore, the Berkshires and abandoned places throughout the southwest United States.

The exhibit will include selected works showcasing long exposure photography under moonlit skies, light painting, and shorter exposures capturing the expansive Milky Way as it stretches over familiar Cape Cod landscapes.   See the movement of stars as they travel through the exposure. Look closely and you may even see meteors, jetliners and aurora!

Timothy’s work has been featured in Cape Cod Magazine, Cape Cod Life, the Cape Cod Times and Visit Massachusetts among other publications. In 2013, his first book “Cape Cod Nights: A Photographic Exploration of Cape Cod and the Islands” was released by Schiffer Books.   His website, www.capenightphotography.com contains the area’s largest collection of night photography.

And, on Monday, July 16th at 11:30am Timothy will be giving a presentation at the Museum in conjunction with his exhibit.

Museum hours:  July & August ~ Open Daily 9:30am-4pm
