[SEMCO] Deadline extended! Submit your presentation proposal for the 2018 Ocean Literacy Summit!

The deadline to submit a presentation proposal for the 7th biennial Ocean Literacy (OL) Summit has been extended to Monday, June 11, 2018!  

Professional scientists, informal and formal educators, environmental consultants, government officials, graduate students, resource managers, citizen scientists, and facilitators of citizen science are invited to present on topics such as (but not limited to) biogeochemical cycles; geological links to the ocean; coastal landforms; sea level change; erosion; currents; beach dynamics; sand; sediment transport; waves; ocean acidification; and tectonic activity.

This year's New England Ocean Science Education Collaborative (NEOSEC) <http://www.neosec.dreamhosters.com/2018-ocean-literacy-summit/> Ocean Literacy Summit will take place in Boston, MA, on November 15 and 16, 2018, hosted by the University of Massachusetts at Boston and Northeastern University Marine Science Center. The focus will be Ocean Literacy (OL) Principle #2: The ocean and life in the ocean shape the features of Earth <http://oceanliteracy.wp2.coexploration.org/ocean-literacy-framework/principle-2-v2/>.  Presentations will take place during break out sessions, lightning talks, and poster sessions on the second day of the Summit (November 16, 2018).
