  A new expedition.

    Brothers Volcano Expedition

    March 7 - 26, 2018

Dear Teachers,

We're excited to announce the new look and functionality of Dive &
Discover, our long-standing blog and ocean science resource site for
students and teachers. In particular, we've updated many of our
interactives so that they're now compatible with tablet devices that are
increasingly common in classrooms. From *hydrothermal vents*
<https://divediscover.whoi.edu/hydrothermal-vents/> to the theory of
*plate tectonics* <https://divediscover.whoi.edu/plate-tectonics/>, your
students will have the best possible information about the amazing life
and geology on the deep seafloor right at their fingertips.

And starting this past Wednesday, March 7, we've embarked on a new
expedition. Follow along with us as we explore a submarine volcano 200
miles northeast of New Zealand. You and your students will be able to
follow along on an exploration of the caldera walls, which host some
amazing, newly discovered hydrothermal vents. We will be sharing
stories, videos, and photos along the way and we’ll be answering your
*questions* <https://divediscover.whoi.edu/expedition16/mail-buoy/>
about the expedition and ocean science. So take a look and see how we
might be able to help your students engage with the world of the deep
ocean in a new way with the new Dive & Discover
