NEW THORNTON BURGESS NATURE CLUB 

A new in-depth adult natural history course will be offered by the Thornton
W. Burgess Society with the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History at the Green
Briar Nature Center in East Sandwich.  On the first Saturday of each month
from April through December, explore a seasonal natural history topic with a
local naturalist/citizen scientist.  Study broad perspectives of unique Cape
Cod, the individual details of specific species, adaptation, climate change
and the impact of the legacy of Thornton Burgess.  Bring your curiosity to
explore and discover the nature around you.  Bring water, snack, binoculars,
hand lens, etc.  Dress for the weather and consider hiking footwear.  The
course consists of the following:  April 7, Birding; May 5, Salt Marsh or
Trailside Treasures; June 2, Wildflowers; July 7, Butterflies; August 4,
Beach Walk; September 8, Birdbanding or Salt Marsh; October 6, Wild Food;
November 3, Insects in winter; December 1, Winter Wildlife.  Note that the
September date is the second Saturday of the month. The fee is $250 for this
course, which is open to adults and teens ages 16 and up. Participants must
