Press Release
The Cape Cod Bird Club invites one and all to its monthly meeting, Monday,
February 12th, 7 PM, at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Route 6A in
Brewster. The fascinating speaker for this month will be *Dr. Dave Wiley –
Whither, Shearwaters? High-Tech Research on Great Shearwater Migration and
Foraging.*Unlike most places on the planet, here on Cape Cod we are lucky
to regularly see four species of shearwater, often right from the beach.
Did you ever wonder where they come from, what they do while they’re here,
and where they go when they leave? Wonder no more! Dr. David Wiley, who is
the Research Coordinator for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency’s
(NOAA) Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary and leader of the Office
of National Marine Sanctuary’s Center of Excellence for Acoustic Research
and Marine Mammal Conservation, will explain all! Meetings are free and
everyone is invited.
And join the Cape Cod Bird Club's wonderful February walks! Walks are free
but please contact the leader to let him/her know you are coming. Bad
weather cancels.
