The Friends of the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History
  Announce their February Meeting
With Special Guest Speaker, Naturalist Christine Harris Bates
Birds of Winter
  The Public is Welcome! *

BREWSTER, MA The Friends of the Cape Cod Museum
of Natural History in Brewster announce their
monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 13, 2018
with special guest speaker, Christine Harris Bates at 1pm, Birds of Winter.

The 1pm program is preceded by a potluck lunch at
12:00 noon, followed by a brief Friends business
meeting at 12:45. The public is welcome at all or part of the meeting.

Birds of Winter:

If you think that winter is a slow time for birds
on Cape Cod, well think again! Fresh and
saltwater ducks, loons, and grebes are plentiful
on open water throughout the season, and your
feeders are alive with an assortment of songbirds
including sparrows and finches. This presentation
will provide an overview of the common birds seen
on Cape Cod in winter, as well as discuss best
bird-feeding practices to attract them to your backyard.

Orleans native Christine Harris Bates is a
naturalist and public programs coordinator with
Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. Prior to
working for Wellfleet Bay, Christine was a Park
Ranger at the Cape Cod National Seashore and
coordinated and led canoe trips in Nauset Marsh.
She has a passion for ornithology and is a skilled birder.

*Admission is Free/Please note that the Museum
exhibits are not open until 2/17/2018

For more information please call the Museum at 508-896-3867 ext. 133.
