Job Announcement - Two Seasonal Staff Positions with Barnstable Clean Water Coalition





BCWC is a non-profit organization based in Osterville working to restore and preserve clean water in the Town of Barnstable. While continuing to build on over 20 years of water quality monitoring in the Three Bays estuary, we have expanded the geographic scope of our education, monitoring, mitigation and advocacy programs to protect our waterways.



Barnstable Clean Water Coalition (BCWC) is hiring two seasonal staffers at 30 hours per week from June through August.



Responsibilities:

  *   Assist staff with fieldwork and educate visitors about birds and habitat of barrier beach island
  *   Educate boaters on clean and green boating practices
  *   Assist with maintenance of oyster upweller project and educate public on the benefits of shellfish
  *   Educate public on clean water issues at community events
  *   Conduct clean-ups along barrier beach island
  *   Assist with water quality sampling in July and August
  *   Assist staff with office work as needed



Qualifications:

  *   18 years or older
  *   Experience operating small boats
  *   Capable swimmer
  *   Comfortable working outside on the water and in the field
  *   Weekends required
  *   Outgoing and comfortable talking to all age groups
