[SEMCO] Upcoming High School & Gap Year Opportunities with SEA

Greetings from Sea Education Association (SEA) in Woods Hole, Massachusetts! I'm pleased to share the below upcoming summer and fall academic opportunities for your high school and gap year students.



High School Summer Programs

This summer, SEA will offer two unique field-based experiences for high school students. SEA Science on the Cape (SEASCape)<https://www.sea.edu/high_school_programs/seascape> is a 3-week, field-based academic summer program that offers motivated students the opportunity to study the marine environment while living and learning on our shore campus in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Our second program, SEA Expedition<https://www.sea.edu/high_school_programs/sea-expedition>, puts students at the helm of our Atlantic research vessel, the SSV Corwith Cramer, for a 2-week oceanographic research and sailing voyage in the waters off Cape Cod. Teamwork, leadership, and a sense of community are the underlying values of the academic curriculum in both programs. Space is still available in all sessions!



Fall 2018 Pre-College Semester

Students who are planning to take a gap year or who have been accepted to an undergraduate institution as winter admits are welcome to spend their Fall 2018 semester with us, exploring the North Atlantic Ocean while earning college credit. SEA Semester: Ocean Exploration<https://www.sea.edu/voyages/ocean_exploration_fall2018> challenges students to take their learning out of the classroom and into the field, combining six weeks of shore study in Woods Hole with a six-week offshore research voyage from Woods Hole to the Caribbean. Offering 17 transferable Boston University credits, this fall semester program is a great opportunity for students to continue their academic pursuits while exploring the marine environment through purposeful, experiential learning at sea.



Since 1971, SEA has equipped over 10,000 undergraduate and high school students with the tools to become environmentally literate citizens. Thank you in advance for helping to spread the word about our programs with the next generation of ocean scholars, stewards, and leaders!
