[SEMCO] Internship Opportunity -- Monomoy NWR

Summary:  American Conservation Experience, a Non-Profit Conservation Corps
based in Flagstaff, AZ, in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service, is seeking ONE Maintenance Intern to dedicate 12 months in support
of the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge located on Cape Cod,
Massachusetts.  The purpose of the internship is to provide direct
experience in the management and maintenance required to sustain a small
USFWS coastal refuge.  Some examples of the project work required include
maintaining the facilities, grounds, and trails, assisting with the Monomoy
Point Light Station renovation, operating and up keeping vehicles and
tools, and assisting with repairs on-site. Opportunities to occasionally
assist the biological staff are also available.

Start Date:    late October/early November (flexible for the right
candidate)

End Date:      12 months from start date

** A 12-month commitment is required **

Compensation:  The ACE fellow will receive a living allowance of $550/week
for food and incidental expenses, paid bi-weekly. Dormitory housing will be
provided. The intern will be required to spend time camping overnight in a
historic lighthouse located eight miles off the coast of the Refuge several
times throughout the year.
