The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History
Presents
Lunch & Learn
Nature’s Innovations & Biomimicry
with Peter Lawrence

BREWSTER, MA The Cape Cod Museum of Natural
History in Brewster is proud to present a new
Summer Series called Lunch & Learn. Our first
program is Nature’s Innovations & Biomimicry with
Peter Lawrence, President and Co-founder of
Biomimicry New England Monday, June 26, 2017 at
11:30am. For information on other Lunch & Learn
programs and Series Tickets go to www.ccmnh.org
.
Biomimicry is about learning from nature. More
specifically, it is the conscious emulation of
natural forms, process and systems to solve
problems. This is not new, the indigenous people
of the world have survived by learning from
nature for thousands of years, but recently we
have forgotten this opportunity. Nature has been
solving problems for 3.8 billion years and there
is much to be learned. Peter will discuss nature
as a source of sustainable innovation and the new discipline of Biomimicry.

Biomimicry New England is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to establishing nature and
natural systems as an important resource for
education and innovation in New England.
Previously, from 1985 to 2014 Peter was Chairman
& Founder of the Corporate Design Foundation
whose mission was to improve the quality of life
and the effectiveness of organizations through
design. Prior to that he was Director of the
Design Management Institute in Boston. He has
taught design at business schools including:
Babson, London Business School, Boston University
School of Management and UT Austin’s School of
Business. He received a degree in Economics from
Lafayette College and a degree in Architecture
from Rhode Island School of Design
