Join us for our second annual 'Whale of a Family Night” at Bridgewater State University (BSU) in the Dana Mohler-Faria Math and Science Center this Wednesday, on May 17th from 4-7 p.m.

This Family Event will feature multiple hands-on ocean-themed activities and demonstrations, including origami whales, plankton races, blubber glove activities, Wet 'n Wild face painting and Marine Debris Trivia. At the end of the evening, join Krill Carson, President of the New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance (NECwA) for a family presentation on the unique marine wildlife in our New England waters.

This collaboration of the New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance, the Center for the Advancement of STEM Education, the Department of Biological Sciences, Mass Audubon, and the Youth Environmental & Social Societies of Middleboro and Bridgewater-Raynham, has led to the formation of this evening's engaging events. We look to bring together scientific understanding, oceanography education, applied chemistry studies and marine learning through the visual arts and foreign languages.

YESS hIgh school students working with educators and BSU Biology undergraduates collaborate to bring you the issues related to marine debris and the hazards facing marine wildlife through this fun and informative family ocean-themed program. The public is encouraged to register for this free event through the link provided on the Whale of a Family Night flyer.

See brochure for additional event details.
