COSA Instructor (short-term)
This short-term summer position, ideal for an experienced high school science educator, reports to the Outreach Instructor, and is responsible for delivery of marine science outreach programs with high school youth in field and classroom settings. The program runs weekdays from August 14-25, 2017, and the Instructor will also be expected to participate in two pre- and post-program coordinating meetings. For a full description and application instructions, click here<http://www.northeastern.edu/cos/marinescience/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2016/10/COSA-Lead-Instructor.pdf>.
Genomics Educator Intern (short-term)
The Educator Intern will work with Dr. Katie Lotterhos, whose research focuses on the genetic basis of adaptation and has particular interest in understanding how marine organisms are adapting to climate change and other human impacts on natural systems. The Intern will learn from research scientists about their work, and will plan and implement ways to teach basic genomic content to high school students – both to students taking part in a one-day program at the MSC, as well as back in their own classroom. The position, well suited for an experienced high school science educator, is anticipated to last 40 hours in two phases over summer of 2017 and winter of 2018.
