Join us for an evening of art and marine science this March at the new MIT Sea Grant
facility in Cambridge MA!
On Friday, March 17 from 5:00 to 9:00p, we will host an Opening Reception for "Under
a Thousand Waves", a photographic exhibition featuring Keith Ellenbogen in our new
Katádysi Art Gallery at 12 Emily St in Cambridge, MA. As described in the brochure

Ellenbogen's work as an underwater conservation photographer presents a global exploration
of the diversity and beauty of tropical coral reefs. In the context of MIT Sea Grant's
current research focus on ocean acidification, Keith's photos provide powerful statements
of what is at stake in a global effort to understand this process, and ultimately
reverse it. Ellenbogen was the 2015 CAST Visiting Artist in Residence at MIT, and
is a Senior Fellow with the International League of Conservation Photographers, 
Fellow with The Explorers Club, and the 2016 Fulbright Alumnus-in-Residence for 
the Greater New York Chapter.
The Katádysi Art Gallery is located within the new MIT Sea Grant facility, alongside
an updated biology lab, an expanded ocean engineering lab, and a fully equipped 
classroom space. Our new space at 12 Emily St represents a unique opportunity for
MIT Sea Grant to motivate a dynamic forum for art and science between the MIT and
surrounding communities, in the context of MIT Sea Grant's research and outreach
 programs. In the years to come, MIT Sea Grant will exhibit artwork drawn from and
reflecting the relationships between the MIT Sea Grant, our stakeholders, and the
ocean environment. The gallery will serve as a space where students, partners, and
stakeholders experience artwork inspired by ocean science and where the art inspires
new conversations and new connections.
