11AM - 12PM
Salt Pond Visitors Center, 50 Nauset Road, Eastham
Description: Long before settlers came to Cape Cod, natural events, such as lightning strikes, would spark wildfires across the landscape. These fires influence habitats found across the Cape. Since we have far fewer natural wildfires today, the Cape Cod Fire Management Crew utilizes prescribed burns to keep our community safe and our environment thriving. Learn about fire management methods and volunteer opportunities with the Cape Cod National Seashore.
