Announcing a NOAA Hydrographic Services Review Panel (HSRP) federal advisory committee public meeting September 11-13, 2017, at the Sheraton Portsmouth, in Portsmouth, NH. A draft agenda and New England regional navigation services report is attached. The meeting will be accessible via webinar for those who are not able to attend in person and the presentations and meeting materials will be available in advance on the HSRP website.

The HSRP Federal Advisory Committee public meeting will focus on research, development, technology, unmanned and autonomous systems for hydrographic surveying, charting, and navigation. There will be updates from the HSRP emerging Arctic priorities working group, the University of New Hampshire’s (UNH) Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping and UNH-NOAA Joint Hydrographic Center, review and discussion of the recommendations for the draft NOS OCS Autonomous Systems Strategy, two draft issue papers on Precision Navigation and Research and Development, and comments may include regional New England topics. There will be updates from the National Ocean Service program offices related to navigation services – National Geodetic Service, Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services and Office of Coast Survey.
 
The HSRP is seeking public comments on the value of NOS products, and to offer recommendations to improve NOAA's navigation data, services, and products. Comments related to navigation services are encouraged and welcome in advance, in person or via the webinar.

The HSRP is a federal advisory committee that provides NOAA with independent advice on improving the quality, efficiency, and usefulness of NOAA's navigation-related products, data, and services. The HSRP advises the NOAA Administrator about its navigation (i.e. nautical charts and ENCs), physical oceanographic (i.e. tides & water levels), geospatial, positioning, and shoreline programs, products, and services. There are two public meetings each year in different port regions at which we seek public comments from stakeholders and partners.
