Pleasant Bay
Community Boating
APRIL 2017
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear SEMCO,
The biggest news this month is that our new web site is on line! Our organization
has grown in leaps and bounds since we moved to our new campus 2 ½ years ago, and
this new web site not only reflects that growth and tells the story of who we are,
what we do, and how we do it.... it makes it easier to interface with our members,
participants, volunteers and donors. This project has been a huge undertaking spearheaded
by marketing and communications committee co-chairs Fran Schofield and Lyndy Rogers,
with a lot of help from other committee members and staff. Many, many thanks for
another job well done by this group!
When you visit our new web site you'll see the breadth and depth of our program
offerings. Boating and Marine Science programs for all ages and abilities have expanded
significantly. Sign-ups are already underway and programs are filling quickly, so--if
you haven't already done so--join PBCB and register soon to reserve a spot!
On the campus, the Cape Tech High School is fully engaged in the Knollenberg project,
and it's exciting to see this building transition into a much-needed classroom,
meeting and administration facility. Also, thanks to our many volunteers, we have
been upgrading amenities in our Residential Membership cottages to make them even
more appealing for our "Residential Members" who vacation on Pleasant Bay while
taking part in PBCB's many programs.
All of PBCB's accomplishments are dependent upon the generosity of our volunteers,
donors, and corporate sponsors. We are grateful for your many financial contributions,
donations of in-kind product or services, or simply your time, enthusiasm and/or
expertise. In addition, our new partnerships in the business community--Lawrence-Lynch
Corporation, Wilkinson Environmental, and Nauset Disposal, to name a few--are especially
valuable as we continue to accomplish great things for our communities, with limited
resources.
Summer is almost here - looking forward to seeing you on the campus soon!

OUR BUSINESS PARTNERS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lawrence Lynch Corporation
Last month, we featured Jim Fish in our Volunteer Spotlight. This month, we'd like
to say thanks to Lawrence Lynch Corp, the company that has so generously donated
resources, materials, and Jim's work time to help PBCB realize our dream of a revitalized
campus. They have provided approximately $5000 in equipment and materials to build
the lower service road and parking spots for South Cottage.
Falmouth-based Lawrence Lynch is a family-owned contracting company, whose services
include asphalt paving, construction of culverts and bridges, bikepaths and sidewalks,
excavation and site development, underground utilities and subdivision construction.
Led by President Christopher Lynch, the company has built and maintained a reputation
for professionalism and trustworthiness for more than 35 years.
