ARNOLD’S LOBSTER AND CLAM BAR DONATES $8,000 TO WILD CARE

Eastham, MA – On September 18th, Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar owner Nate
Nickerson donated all proceeds from the day, in honor of WILD CARE Cape
Cod, a wildlife rehabilitation center in Eastham. From 11:30 a.m. to 8:00
p.m., guests dined on ice cream, seafood, onion rings, and more at this
popular Eastham restaurant. The benefit generated $8,000 in support of WILD
CARE’S mission of rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured and orphaned
wildlife.

“This fundraiser will help us continue our goals of providing personalized
care for injured wildlife and to raise awareness about the impacts wildlife
are facing on Cape Cod,” states WILD CARE Executive Director, Stephanie
Ellis. “WILD CARE is dependent on public donations. We do not receive any
state, federal, or municipal funding, and the cost of running WILD CARE for
one month during the summer months is upward of $18,000. We received 223
animals into our care in August of this year. That is 53 more animals than
we received last year at this time. Arnold’s donation came at a time of
tremendous need, and we are so incredibly grateful to have Arnold’s
support.” WILD CARE strives to educate the public about how to co-exist
with and reduce impacts on native wildlife.

WILD CARE would like to extend a special thanks to Nate Nickerson and his
staff, and to all who dined at Arnold’s on September 18th.

Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar is located on 3580 Rt. 6 Eastham.

WILD CARE’s wildlife rehabilitators treat birds, mammals and reptiles
brought to the center, with the goal of releasing them back into the wild
when they are capable of independent survival. Through public education,
WILD CARE works to prevent wildlife casualties and works to engage the
community in conservation through volunteerism. Since our founding WILD
CARE has accepted over 22,000 wild creatures, representing over 275 species
of native birds, mammals and reptiles. www.wildcarecapecod.org
