The Cape Cod Bird Club invites you all to another year of interesting
meetings and fascinating programs. We kick off the year on Monday,
September 12th at 7 PM at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History on Route
6A in Brewster. Our speaker this month is Dr. Lisa Sorenson, Executive
Director of BirdsCaribbean. Dr. Sorenson is an ornithologist and
conservation ecologist with 30 years experience working in Caribbean.
Her talk is titled "*Awakening with Birds: Raising Awareness and Building
Capacity for Conservation in the Caribbean. *The islands of the Caribbean
are a biodiversity hotspot—there are an astonishing *172* endemic birds in
the region, many of them threatened with extinction. The region is also a
seasonal home for over 120 migratory species that spend up to 9 months of
the year in the islands or stop-over to rest and refuel on their long
journeys to and from Central or South America.
Come bird watching with the Cape Cod Bird Club!
