Have you registered, yet, for the 2016 Ocean Literacy Summit <http://www.neosec.dreamhosters.com/previous-summits/2016-ocean-literacy-summit/> hosted by the New England Ocean Science Education Collaborative (NEOSEC) <http://www.neosec.dreamhosters.com/>? Better yet, have you signed up to present during the Science and Education Fair <http://www.neosec.dreamhosters.com/2016-ocean-literacy-summit/2016-summit-science-and-education-fair/>? There is still time to register and be part of this new and exciting component of the Ocean Literacy Summit program <http://www.neosec.dreamhosters.com/2016-ocean-literacy-summit/2016-summit-schedule/>!

The Science and Education Fair was added to the Summit agenda to address feedback from previous participants that had hoped to gain more hands-on ideas of how to teach ocean literacy concepts. The Fair will also provide an opportunity for additional connection and collaboration between scientists and educators. All interested individuals are encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity to demonstrate their educational approach, tool, or activity, and/or share a poster to discuss their research.

To be a part of the Science and Education Fair, you will need to register for the Summit <http://www.neosec.dreamhosters.com/2016-ocean-literacy-summit/2016-summit-registration/>. “Fair Presenter” is now an option in the initial drop-down menu of the online registration system, and proposed activity details can be included with your registration. Please also email abstracts and/or activity descriptions to Aimee Bonanno, abonanno at neaq.org <mailto:abonanno at neaq.org>. Registration for the Fair will close with online Summit registration on October 20, 2016.

If you haven’t already marked your calendars, the 2016 Summit will take place along the working waterfront of Portland, Maine, on November 3 and 4, 2016, and will focus on the latest research and education activities surrounding Ocean Literacy principle #3: “The ocean is a major influence on weather in climate.”

We hope to see you there!
