Summer Job Opportunities!

 

Three Bays Preservation is now hiring for our summer staff.  We have several
part-time seasonal opportunities for college students and/or anyone who
feels it fits their needs.

 

We are hiring:

 

.        Assistant for the Program Manager

.        Beach Ambassadors for Dead Neck Island

 

Assistant for the Program Manager :

.        Help in our community outreach programs for the summer - we run
several events throughout the summer for kids and their families, as well as
adults.

.        Coordinate our sampling programs - we sample for water quality as
well as invasive species

.        Help at our fund raising events

.        Assist the Program Manager as needed

This position is available now and would continue through September.

 

Beach Ambassadors for Dead Neck Island

.        Patrol Dead Neck Island and interact and educate the public about
our presence and stewardship of the island

.        Maintain a daily record of visitors to the island

.        Trash control of Dead Neck Island

.        Working on weekends is required - work days are Fridays through
Mondays

.        Assist at fund raising activities as needed

.        Assist at water and invasive sampling, and aquaculture projects as
needed.

These positions are available at the end of May and continue until mid to
late August.

Candidates should be able to operate a small outboard motor boat.

If not already certified, a CPR course is required and a Safe Boating Course
is required, which we will provide.

 

Three Bays Preservation is a small environmental non-profit that is
concerned with the water quality in the three bay area of West Bay, Cotuit
Bay and North Bay in the Town of Barnstable. We are also the owners of a
small barrier beach island off the southern coast of Barnstable known as
Dead Neck Island. This island is a major habitat for several endangered
coastal waterbirds. We are also currently involved with several wastewater
planning initiatives with the Town of Barnstable.
