[SEMCO] Position Available: MassLIFT-AmeriCorps Community Engagement Coordinator with the Buzzards Bay Coalition and Wareham Land Trust

The Buzzards Bay Coalition and the Wareham Land Trust are seeking a
Community Engagement Coordinator to serve with MassLIFT-AmeriCorps. With
training and support from the Coalition and in coordination with the
Wareham Land Trust, the CEC will increase these organizations’ capacity to
engage with more people through programs and projects that serve the town
of Wareham and surrounding communities.



The Buzzards Bay Coalition and Wareham Land Trust have proposed the
following potential projects for their Community Engagement Coordinator:



1) Assist in the creation and marketing of engaging digital content on the
Buzzards Bay Coalition and Wareham Land Trust blogs and social media to
guide new and diverse constituencies in outdoor exploration at conservation
lands across the Buzzards Bay watershed.

2) Expand awareness of publicly accessible conservation lands in the
greater Wareham area through collaborations with local newspapers, digital
media outlets, and other community partners.

3) Grow the Coalition’s “Discover Buzzards Bay” initiative by visiting
conservation lands throughout the Buzzards Bay watershed and creating maps,
blog posts, videos, and other public information materials about these
properties to encourage diverse groups and demographics to get outside and
explore.

4) Provide outdoor exploration programs for families and adults and promote
outdoor recreation at outreach events across the region.



The CEC will be hosted at the Buzzards Bay Coalition in New Bedford as a
member of the Community Engagement department and will be supervised and
supported by the Coalition’s Communications Director. The 2016-17 MassLIFT
program will run from August 29, 2016 to July 28, 2017. To learn more about
