Waquoit Bay Reserve is seeking a short-term education contractor. 

Education Contractor at Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, East Falmouth, MA - Cape Cod
		Short Term Contract Position; No Benefits
		Must be present on site July 19-22, 25-29, there will be additional flexible hours before and after the workshop

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
*	Work with Reserve Education Coordinator to plan, prepare for, teach, and evaluate Teachers on the Estuary course (July 25-28, with follow up session November 12).
*	Work on associated projects such as visualizations of research data, creation of activities, lesson plans, and curriculum, website build out and updates, and materials to document the program.
*	Help with logistics of workshop including registration, food, lodging, set up, and recordkeeping. 
*	Develop data analysis activities for high school students using data from the Bringing Wetlands to Market research project to be incorporated into the Bringing Wetlands to Market: STEM Curriculum Linking Wetlands and Climate Change http://www.waquoitbayreserve.org/research-monitoring/salt-marsh-carbon-project/teachers/  
*	 Perform other duties related to the objectives of the grant.

SCHEDULE
This contract is flexible in hours, which will be agreed upon by both parties.  Contractor must be present July 19-22, and July 25-29. There will be additional 40 -80 flexible hours before and after these dates.

PAY RATE: $25 per hour, no benefits
This position will support the TOTE (Teachers on the Estuary) program at Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve which is funded through a NERRS Science Collaborative grant. TOTE is a National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) program that offers field-based teacher professional development at the Research Reserves in support of watershed and estuarine education. Participating Reserves utilize local research, habitats, and professional knowledge. All TOTE programs incorporate common elements such as general estuarine and watershed information and training on NOAA/NERRS national education initiatives. 


REQUIREMENTS
*	Knowledge of estuaries and watersheds and the scientific research process
*	Experience teaching about watersheds and estuaries to a variety of age groups in classroom and outdoor setting
*	Knowledge of Massachusetts STE Frameworks, and program and evaluation design 
*	Comfortable with use of social media, computer graphic design, use of spreadsheets, and accessing on-line data
*	Ability to work flexible hours
*	Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*	Strong environmental ethic
*	Degree in education preferred.
