Sanctuary seeks advisory council applicants for five seats
NOAA's Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary is seeking applicants for five 
alternate seats on its advisory council. The council ensures public participation
in sanctuary management and provides advice to the sanctuary superintendent. The
 open alternate seats are: at-large; business/industry; mobile gear commercial fishing;
whale watch; and youth.
Candidates are selected based on their expertise and experience in relation to the
seat for which they are applying, community and professional affiliations, and views
regarding the protection and management of marine resources. Applicants who are 
chosen as members or alternates should expect to serve a three-year term.
Applications are due February 29.  To receive an application or for further information

SAC meeting scheduled for March 9
The 46th Sanctuary Advisory Council meeting is scheduled for March 9, 2016, from
 9:30am to 3:30pm, at the Holiday Inn, Rockland, Mass.  Additional information about

Student marine art exhibit moves
The traveling marine art exhibit, featuring winning entries from the 2015 Massachusetts
Marine Educators annual contest, has moved to the Salem National Historic Site visitor
center in downtown Salem.  The center is open Wed. through Sun and is free of charge.
