[SEMCO] May 18 Stormwater Workshop on MS4 permit and stormwater collaboratives

*On May 18 there will be a free Stormwater Workshop at the Cape Cod
Community College, from 12:30 to 4:30 PM.  The Workshop Agenda is attached.

*First, EPA will present the long-awaited 2016 NPDES Small MS4 Stormwater
Permit for Massachusetts*. This presentation affords a unique opportunity
to learn from EPA about the MS4 stormwater permit which will apply to
stormwater management in nearly every Cape Cod town as well as hundreds of
other communities in Massachusetts. Please note that EPA has planned this
as a presentation to serve both Cape Cod and Southeastern Massachusetts
(see https://www3.epa.gov/region1/npdes/stormwater/MS4_MA.html for more
information).

*Second, there will be presentations on stormwater collaboratives
(coalitions between communities to address common stormwater management
needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner).*  There will also be a
presentation on the link between the MS4 permit and the Cape Cod 208 Water
Quality Plan.  At the end there will be a push-button poll of Cape Cod
attendees and discussion to learn whether stormwater collaboratives are of
interest to Cape Cod communities in order to plan next steps.

This free workshop is intended for public officials. stormwater managers,
natural resource managers, planners, boards, NGOs interested in water and
the environment, and citizens.  RSVP is greatly appreciated.

The entire workshop is co-hosted by the Association to Preserve Cape Cod,
the Barnstable County Coastal Resources Committee, the Cape Cod Commission
and the Massachusetts Bays National Estuary Program.
