The Inner Space Center (ISC) <http://innerspacecenter.org/> is an international leader in ocean science research, exploration, and education, bringing the excitement of ocean discoveries to onshore audiences worldwide and inspiring the next generation of ocean explorers.
The ISC, located at the University of Rhode Island’s now offering an expanded suite of hands-on and interpretive activities. Groups may pick from educational programs <http://innerspacecenter.org/education-programs/> including "Stirring the Ocean," which explores oceanographic concepts such as density, pressure, and salinity; "Blubber, Baleen, and Blowholes!" where students will learn about marine mammals and their unique adaptations to the ocean environment; and/or "Sand Detectives," where participants will be tasked with determining the origin and composition of mystery sand samples from around the globe. All of the 45-minute programs are led by ISC scientists/educators, and are intended for grades 5 and above. Please inquire about select programs being adapted for younger audiences. Programs are conducted at the participating group's location (depending on distance) or in-house at the ISC (Narragansett, RI). Select programs can be done virtually (through an interactive, internet format).
The ISC is currentlyng a $25 discount on any education programs booked by April 30, 2016 (**note: programs do not need to take place by April 30, 2016, merely be booked by this date).
