On Saturday, April 9 from 7-9 PM, Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, and WCAI Radio present Acid Ocean, a 2014 documentary that examines a lesser known aspect of climate change. As oceans absorb more atmospheric carbon, they become more acidic, threatening the skeletons and shells of countless marine creatures that make up ocean food chains. Afterward the film, WCAI science editor Heather Goldstone will lead a panel discussion about how ocean acidification is threatening and impacting the Cape's marine resources and what steps are being taken to respond to the changes. The film will be screened at WHAT, located at 2357 Route 6 next to the Wellfleet post office. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at www.what.org or at the box office.
