Wild Words: Exploring Nature and Literature
October 2 - 4, 2015

With Elizabeth Bradfield, poet and naturalist and Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary

Spend a weekend deeply engaging with place. Explore Cape Cod's woods, waters, and wildlife through literature with poet and naturalist Elizabeth Bradfield as your guide. Outdoor field trips will be punctuated by local and contemporary essays, poems, and stories to encourage conversation and deeper understanding of our experiences. Our base will be Mass Audubon's beautiful 1100-acre Wellfleet Bay Wildilfe Sanctuary and field trips will also explore other wild areas on the Outer Cape including Cape Cod National Seashore. Housing available at Mass Audubon.

ELIZABETH BRADFIELD is the author of two poetry collections, most recently Once Removed, and her poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Orion, The Ecopoetry Anthology and elsewhere. Liz works as a naturalist on Cape Cod and on expedition ships. She is the current Poet-in-Residence at Brandeis University and teaches in the low-residency MFA program at University of Alaska Anchorage.
