Hello!

MassBays is soliciting pre-proposals under our Healthy Estuaries Grant
Program. We’re seeking 18-month projects that will fill in gaps in our
understanding of local estuaries and make progress toward ecosystem
improvements. Grants of $8,000 to $35,000 will be awarded, and 25% cash or
in-kind, non-federal match is required. Pre-proposals are due December 1,
2015; invited full proposals will be due January 29, 2016.

The Healthy Estuaries Grant Program replaces MassBays' Research and
Planning Grant Program, which directed more than $450,000 to 26 projects
around the region. In 2012, the Saugus River Watershed Council assessed
smelt spawning habitat in the Saugus River and a tributary. Their report
<http://massbays.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a587ac1c24&id=cec395a682&e=8ceb704b57>highlights
opportunities for expanding and enhancing spawning areas. Similar projects
around the MassBays region will increase our understanding of local
conditions and trends and ability to encourage environmental improvements. *Map
