The Cape Cod Bird Club does not hold regular meetings in the summer, but
please join us for these fun and FREE club walks.  Also, check
www.capecodbirdclub.org for additions to this schedule and information
about the *Third Annual Cape Cod Birding Festival. *

*Yarmouth Area*
Ken Casson, casson1 at netscape.com or 508-362-8273 – Saturday, July 18, 7AM –
12PM
We are going to explore the Yarmouth area including fantastic places like
Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary, Hallet’s Mill Pond, Water Street Marsh,
Bass Creek and Taylor-Bray Farm. Highlights may include Black-crowned
Night-Heron, terns, White-rumped Sandpiper, and more. We will meet at Long
Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary and head east from there.


*West Dennis Beach*
Peter Bono, pbono at prba.com or 508-375-2848 – Saturday, August 1, 5:30PM –
7PM
Meet at the West Dennis Beach parking lot at the far end (all the way to
the breakwater and Bass River). We will look for resident endangered Piping
Plovers and Least Terns. To participate, please contact the leader in
advance. Rain cancels. After 4PM on the day of the walk you can reach Peter
on his cell phone at 774-487-2848.

*Peterson Farm - Falmouth*

7AM – 10AM We will meet at Peterson Farm where we will walk around the
thickets looking for flycatchers, vireos, warblers, and possibly a
bobolink. The sheep are fun too!

*Sandy Neck*

August 16, 8AM – 12PM
We will start on the beach to scope for seabirds. Then we will make our way
along Trail 1 to search for birds in the marsh. Highlights may include
seabirds, waders, shorebirds, warblers and sparrows. Meet at the beach
parking lot passed the visitor’s shack.

*Ellisville Harbor State Park – South Plymouth*

Once a large farmstead, Ellisville Harbor State Park is a mixed environment
of marsh, beach and forest. Enjoy a beautiful evening walk through the park
in search of shorebirds and marshbirds. After, enjoy a delicious meal with
your leaders at the BBC just down the road. Please meet at the park. From
Route 6 West, cross the Sagamore Bridge and continue onto Route 3 North.
Take Exit 2 for Herring Pond Road toward MA 3A North/Cedarville. At the end
of the ramp, turn left onto Herring Pond Road. Then, turn left onto Route
3A North (State Road). Travel North on Route 3A for about two miles and the
park entrance will be on the right.


*Fort Hill & Coast Guard Beach*

Join us for a walk along the loop trail at Fort Hill in Eastham. We will
then watch the marsh for incoming shorebirds, and hopefully a bittern
and/or rail, while the tide rises. High tide will be at 11:32AM. Then we’ll
head over to scope at Coast Guard Beach. Meet at the Salt Pond Visitor’s
Center where we will drive together to the lower parking lot of Fort Hill.
Please be prepared for sunny and wet conditions.

*Peterson Farm – Falmouth*

4, 8AM – 10AM We will meet at Peterson Farm where we will walk around the
thickets looking for flycatchers, vireos, warblers, and possibly a Bobolink
or Dickcissel.
