Kayak Quest
Mondays-Fridays; May 1-September 25
Members: $35/kayak; Nonmembers: $45/kayak**
Enjoy Sengekontacket Pond at your own pace on this self-guided tour. Rhyming "quest" clues (think treasure hunt!) will help you uncover the story of the Pond's people, places, and wildlife.
**Single & double kayaks available; call to reserve. Up to 2.5 hours; all boats must be returned by 3:30 pm. Age restrictions may apply, call for more information.

Reptiles are an amazing group of animals. Are they slimy? Cold blooded? What makes a reptile a reptile? We will answer these questions and more while becoming familiar with snakes and turtles in our Discovery Room and in their natural habitats!
Seashore Discovery

Meet amazing creatures of the sea! Take a short walk through the forest to a protected beach where you will explore
shallow waters with dip nets and use a large seine net to catch fish, crabs, and other pond
wildlife! Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet and don't forget your hat, sun-screen and mosquito repellent.
Marine Discovery Tour
All ages

Registration required.
Cruise from Oak Bluffs Harbor with a Felix Neck naturalist to
explore the waters of Vineyard Sound aboard The Skipper. We may tow a plankton net, use a scallop drag, and check lobster and fish traps for the diversity of crabs, fish, and
shellfish that live in the water around the island. Participants will have a chance to look at the catch up close and try scup fishing if time permits. This cruise is a great way to experience the tranquility of the ocean at sunset while discovering
underwater wildlife.
Tracking Shorebirds
Saturday, June 13
9-10 am

Oystercatchers, plovers, and terns, oh my! Walk the beach with our shorebird biologist to record field data, search for birds and nests, and identify bird and mammal tracks in the sand. Meet at the State Beach access trail on the Oak Bluffs side of Big Bridge.

The early bird gets the worm (or fish)! Join Felix Neck
birders for a casual walk of the Sanctuary grounds to look for summertime birds. An easy to moderate stroll. Bug spray recommended.
Garden Volunteer Work Party

FREE
Help our garden grow! Work alongside our knowledgeable garden volunteers and learn about native species that provide food for our island butterflies and birds. Come for the knowledge, but stay for the experience and fun!

Join a Felix Neck naturalist on an exciting kayak adventure on Sengekontacket Pond. Paddle by Sarson's Island to see nesting shorebirds. Watch American oystercatchers, cormorants, and shorebirds feed and frolic. Explore the salt marsh and search for pond wildlife. All trips focus on natural history of saltwater communities found on Martha's Vineyard.
NEW: Sunset Kayak Tour*

Enjoy a breathtaking sunset tour on Sengekontacket Pond. Relax, unwind and appreciate the painted sky like never before while paddling the waters. As the sun sets, see the natural world come to a tranquil peace as you float and relish the view.
Moonrise Kayak Tour*
Members: $35/person; Nonmembers: $45/person
See Sengekontacket Pond in a new light-moonlight-as we celebrate the different full moons of summer. With a guide, kayak on the pond as the sun sets, stars twinkle, and the moon rises.

SPINNING WOOL

Registration required.
The simple hand spindle is found from ancient times around the world, and still provides craftspeople with the ability to control the making of twisted fiber from thread to rope. Learn to make yarn from sheep's wool and twine from plant fibers. Try your hand at the hand spindle and learn about island wool with Rebecca Gilbert of Native Earth Teaching Farm.
