The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History presents
  Naturescape Gallery with Botanical Artists Lucy Sur & Joyce McConnell


BREWSTER, MA ­ Naturescape Gallery at the Cape 
Cod Museum of Natural History is proud to present 
two members of the American Society of Botanical 
Artists, and the New England Society of Botanical 
Artists, Lucy Sur and Joyce McConnell, April 1 – 
April 30, 2015 during Museum hours Wednesday thru Sunday 11am – 3pm.

Lucy Sur is a watercolor artist specializing in 
botanical art and illustration. Her paintings 
capture the spirit as well as form of her plant 
subjects from early sprouts and buds to late stage husks and seeds.
Joyce McConnell continues to study with some 
botanical artists from the UK (Ann Swan, Anne 
Marie Evans). She participates in classes and art 
retreats in AZ, CA, CO, CT and MA and integrates 
techniques and approaches developed while 
studying here on Cape Cod.  Her recent work has 
focused on landscapes (acrylics) with attention 
to color and patterns while still painting and 
designing botanical works to be painted in watercolors.
