Mass Audubon's Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary offers seasonal education programming for those who are curious about the marine environment. Oyster Tours and Aquatic Explorations are great ways to get on the water and see organisms first hand.





Aquatic Explorations Cruises



Dates:  Thursdays, July 2 - August 27, 1:30pm-3:30pm

Location:  Hy-Line's Sea Swan, boarding at the Ocean Street Dock in Hyannis, MA



Program Description: Join Mass Audubon Naturalists on a 2-hour boat cruise aboard Hy-Line's Sea Swan to discover creatures that live in Cape Cod waters. Using trawls and fish pots, participants will be able to view and learn about marine life from the glowing comb jellyfish to dogfish and spider crabs.

This family oriented cruise will depart from the Ocean Street Dock in Hyannis, and travel through Hyannis Harbor, Lewis Bay, and near shore Nantucket Sound. Barnstable Oyster Farm Tours and Tastings

Dates: Programs run through the season. See website for details.

Location: Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary, 345 Bone Hill Rd, Barnstable, MA 02637

Program Description: Take a low-tide walking tour of a working oyster farm right off the beach at Long Pasture. Participants will see how oysters are grown in Barnstable Harbor and may choose your own samples to taste. The program includes  a presentation about oyster history and ecology. Shucking lesson included.
