Storytime
with
Children’s Author Kelly Darling


BREWSTER, MA ­The Cape Cod Museum of Natural 
History in Brewster presents author and educator 
Kelly Darling reading from her children’s books, A Fishy Tale and
Rock Star! Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 11:30am.

Come hear author Kelly Darling read from her 
science and nature books, A Fishy Tale and Rock 
Star! illustrated by Ginger McEachern. Their 
first book, A Fishy Tale, follows the story of a 
lone little fish who travels the ocean to find 
out who and what he is by comparing his 
characteristics with those of other marine 
animals that he encounters. A Fishy Tale 
introduces young readers to the science of animal 
classification in an engaging story that is fun to read!

Rock Star! follows the journey of a rock as it 
goes through the rock cycle: a constant cycle 
that changes rocks from one form to 
another.  From igneous to sedimentary and 
sedimentary to metamorphic, the rock that we see 
in the beginning of the story is very different 
from the rock the reader will find at the end.

Together, Kelly and Ginger have created science 
rich stories that are delivered to readers in a 
rhythmic format and anchored by beautiful and 
original artwork. They teach elementary school 
science and art respectively in the Boston area
