EPA just got a rare opportunity to hire an engineer or scientist at our
Region 1 EPA Boston office to work in EPA’s waste water permitting program.
For a very limited time, until Thursday, July 30, 2015, there is an EPA
position open to receive job applications from U.S. citizens through Office
of Personnel Management’s (OPM) USAJOBS website. The delegated examining
number of this announce is RTP-R1-DE-2015-0007. The following is the direct
link to the vacancy announcement:
https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/410736100
This formal job solicitation is for a qualified engineer or scientist to
develop wastewater discharge permits for EPA in the Clean Water Act
(CWA) National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. As you know, the
NPDES program is one of the most direct and effective tools the United
States uses to work with the regulated community and other stakeholders to
reduce water pollution and protect aquatic habitats. At Region 1 EPA, the
accepted applicant will be among the front line professionals directly
responsible for determining permit limits, required practices, and
allowable pollutant loads based on water quality standards, available
technologies, best management practices, and professional judgment.
The position starts at the GS-7 or GS-9 level, with the potential for a
salary growth to a GS-12 level. The location is at the EPA New England
Office in Boston, MA. This is a full time position, open to U.S.
citizens. EPA New England values a diverse work force.
Please consider passing this notice to qualified candidates or making it
available to your appropriate contacts. If you or others have questions
about the job, EPA, NPDES, or the process, feel free to contact me or
Damien Houlihan who is the hiring official. For applicants, further
critical information is at the USAJOBS link identified above.
Thank you. I realize the federal job solicitation process does not give us
much time and that it is the middle of the summer, but any assistance in
enhancing the government’s workforce would be appreciated.
Thank you,
David Webster, Chief
Water Permits Branch
Office of Ecosystem Protection
Region 1 EPA
