[SEMCO] INVITATION: Cuba and Coastal Protection Visit

Environmentalists -

For people concerned about coastal protection and ocean topics, the recent news about Cuba is exciting.   Although there's also lots of concern.

It's possible that travel restrictions and the embargo will be reduced in 2015.    Although the new Congress may say, "No."    It's possible that environmentalists in Cuba and in the United States will find new ways to help each other.   It's also possible that  Cuba will be hit by a new era of development, pollution, and corruption.....   In the year 2015, all sorts of things are possible.   If you're concerned, you may want to visit Cuba this year.

Several organizations are involved with visits to Cuba....   The Eco Cuba Network is very helpful for people who are concerned about coastal protection and ocean issues.    www.ecocubanetwork.net       Look at the 2015 delegations.

Cuba isn't paradise.    However, it may be a model - in some ways - for developing nations that are trying to respond to climate change and other environmental problems.    At the least, it's good for American and Cuban environmentalists to try to help each other.
