[SEMCO] February Vacation Week at National Marine Life Center

Join the National Marine Life Center this February Vacation Week for a
variety of fun and educational ocean activities! We'll be open February
14-22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Our education programs include Little
Flippers Club, Marine Animal Medical Mystery, a brand new program called
Endangered Species Exploration, and Patient Update. Programs run Monday
through Saturday, with a different theme daily. For program details, see
below.
11:00 A.M. ~ LITTLE FLIPPERS CLUB: Join us for a marine animal-themed story
time and craft project! Different themes every day (see below). All ages
welcome; most suitable for children ages 3-8. Children must be supervised.
Program lasts 45-60 minutes.
COST: Members $3/child/program; Non-members $5/child/program.
12:00 P.M. ~ PATIENT UPDATE: Learn the stories of the marine animal patients
currently in our care from a member of our Animal Care Team. View our sea
turtles via live TV and meet our small turtles in person. Program lasts
approximately 15-20 minutes. FREE.
1:00 P.M. ~ MARINE ANIMAL MEDICAL MYSTERY: What does it take to be a marine
animal care technician? What are some of the questions and "mysteries"
involved in wildlife rehabilitation? Each day we'll learn how to care for a
different animal. Best suited for ages 8-14. Space is limited to 15
children. Please reserve your spot by calling (508) 743-9888 at least 24
hours in advance. Program lasts approximately 60 minutes.
COST: Members $3/child/program; Non-members $5/child/program.
2:00 P.M. ~ PATIENT UPDATE: Learn the stories of the marine animal patients
currently in our care from a member of our Animal Care Team. View our sea
turtles via live TV and meet our small turtles in person. Program lasts
approximately 15-20 minutes. FREE.
3:00 P.M. ~ ENDANGERED SPECIES EXPLORATION: How do animals become
endangered? What are some of the endangered species that live in the ocean?
How can we help? Through a combination of slides, video, specimen
exploration, and hands-on activities, learn more about endangered animals.
Best suited for ages 10-16. Program lasts 45-60 minutes.
Program will be offered Monday through Thursday only.
COST: Members $3/child/program; Non-members $5/child/program.
4:00 P.M. ~ PATIENT UPDATE: Learn the stories of the marine animal patients
currently in our care from a member of our Animal Care Team. View our sea
turtles via live TV and meet our small turtles in person. Program lasts
approximately 15-20 minutes. FREE.
