Position Title: Stormwater Specialist for the BBAC Stormwater Collaborative Initiative


 


Salary: $55,000-$65,000


 


Duties and Responsibilities: Help guide and assist five Buzzards Bay municipal public works departments
implement a program to monitor stormwater discharges, and map stormwater collection
systems contributing to those discharges. The objective is to assist
municipalities identify potential illicit connections and to establish
priorities for the treatment of stormwater contributing to shellfish bed and
swimming beach closures, and other impairments.


 


 


Qualifications Required Understanding of the laws, regulations, policies, , and guidelines
governing stormwater management in Massachusetts.



 Knowledge of federal and state stormwater permit
     requirements related to the implementation Municipal Separate Storm Sewer
     System (MS4) permit. 
 Experience in water-quality monitoring and
     associated analytical techniques. Must have the ability to conduct field
     activities in a variety of locations under temperature extremes and
     adverse weather conditions. This work requires moderate physical activity.
 Understanding of Geographic Information System
     software and techniques.
