Canal Visitor Center Tour
Discover some of the rich history, unique design features and vigilant operations that make the Cape Cod Canal the safe and viable navigable waterway it is today. View real-time radar, camera and computer images of the Canal, transmitted live from the Central Marine Traffic Control System. 1/2 hour.
TUESDAY August 11 at 10am
Canal Kids: Touch Tank of Marine Life
Lobsters, crabs, sea stars and more. Join us for a hands-on experience with live marine critters!
Discover the fascinating ways these animals adapt and survive to life's challenges. Are you interested in becoming a Junior Ranger? Join us for 5 or more programs this summer and you'll receive your Junior Ranger patch and certificate!
WEDNESDAY August 12 at 7pm
Evening Program: Touch Tank of Marine Life
Why should the kids be the only ones to explore? Join us as we invite ALL AGES to get up close and personal with this hands-on experience with live marine critters! Join a Canal Park Ranger to discover some fascinating facts about various local marine organisms living in the waters around Cape Cod. Presented by Park Ranger Elisa Carey.

Hike of the Week: Bike Hike
Exercise body and mind! Learn about the Canal while riding your bicycle alongside the waterway. A Canal Park Ranger or volunteer will ride with you, share interesting stories and images, and point out many unique features. Meet at the Sandwich Recreation Area, 10 Freezer Rd, Sandwich, MA. Guided tour 6.5 miles one way. Roundtrip back to start point is 13 miles. 2 ½ + hours
SATURDAY August 14 - Drop in anytime between 10am-12pm
HANDS ON S.T.E.A.M.
Stop by the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center on Saturday mornings for hands on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math activities that will have you exploring how boats float, building birds, surveying the Canal, designing bridges, experimenting with water, and more. Great for curious minds of all ages.
