Volunteer Day at Felix Neck
Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 25, 2015 9:00am-12:00pm- Mass Audubon's 9th Annual Statewide Volunteer Day.
It's not too early to think about spring! Plan now to participate in Mass Audubon's Statewide Volunteer Day on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Enjoy getting outdoors, re-connecting with nature, and helping one of our wildlife sanctuaries tackle their spring "to do" list. Come with your family, a group of friends, or by yourself to 100 Felix Neck Drive, Edgartown.
Butterfly Garden Blitz
Our butterfly garden needs to be prepared for the season. We need your help with planting, re-chipping the paths, rejuvenating the soil, and getting ready for the return of the butterflies and hummingbirds. Please bring work gloves, wear work clothes, and bring whatever gardening tools you have available. The more volunteers the merrier.
Bittersweet Battle Royale
Felix Neck is battling back its invasives! Help us remove some bittersweet that plagues our Sanctuary. Please bring work gloves and wear work clothes. We need all the help we can get with this project.
Spruce up our Nature Play Area
Get the Nature Play Area ready for summer. We will be doing a spring cleaning spruce up and adding woodchips to the site. This is an outdoor project, suitable for all ages. Please bring work gloves and wear work clothes.
After a morning of hands-on work we will provide a barbecue lunch for the volunteers to celebrate all that was accomplished.
So bring friends and family and get your hands dirty for a great cause! To sign up, visit www.massaudubon.org/workforwildlife<http://www.massaudubon.org/workforwildlife>. For more information, call 508.627.4850.

Does being a sleuth intrigue you? Do you need a reason to walk the beach before the high season? Have you ever experienced the beauty of the beach late at night? This very important project needs dozens of volunteers to look for spawning crabs or evidence that they were there nesting the previous night. If you have yet to participate in a beach survey, please consider joining in this year - you are needed! Pass the word; invite friends.
Surveys are conducted on days surrounding the New and Full Moons of May and June. Training will include time indoors and walking on the beach at the swash line. Please dress for the weather and wear water-resistant boots or shoes.
