beautiful time to get outside and explore! Buzzards Bay Coalition has a lot
of great Bay Adventures planned for the fall. Here is a listing of what we

 *Itty Bitty Bay Explorers- Dartmouth*

*Wednesdays Sept 10, 17, 24, and Oct 1 at 10:00-11:00 am*

Get your little ones to discover the outdoors through the Buzzards Bay
Coalition’s Itty Bitty Bay Explorers program, a series of four free outings
on Wednesdays in September at Apponogansett Park. Through fun games and
hands-on activities, your whole family can learn about Buzzards Bay’s
animals, plants and habitats. Itty Bitty Bay Explorers is recommended for
families with young children. We encourage you to attend all four programs,
but it is not required.

Women in Waders – Cape Cod

*Thursdays Sept 11, 18, 25, at 5:30-7:00 pm*
Ladies of Buzzards Bay: Join our female education staff for a series of
three free adventures that will keep you learning, squirming, laughing, and
discovering new things about yourself and about Buzzards Bay. We will
explore ways to get up close and personal with nature in a safe and
supportive environment.

*Women in Waders – Seeking Shellfish*

Don a pair of waders and hop into the Bay in Bourne! You’ll learn how to
use a clam rake to dig for quahogs at low tide and try your hand at
shucking a clam yourself. This will be a “dig and release” activity unless
you have a valid Bourne shellfish permit.

*Location: *Little Bay Conservation Area, Bourne

*Women in Waders – Bugging Out*

Love bugs? Hate bugs? Either way, you’ll be amazed at the diversity of life
that exists at the edge of the Red Brook Pond. We’ll put you in waders and
send you out in search of aquatic macroinvertebrates (aka “big water
bugs”). You’ll learn about the interesting adaptations of these unusual
creatures, many of which you may have never seen before!

*Women in Waders – Muddy in the Marsh*

Ready to get muddy in the marsh? Join us to look for marsh creatures high
and low in the salt marsh. We’ll learn techniques on how to catch blue
crabs and at Little Sippewisset Marsh. (Wear clothes and shoes that can get
wet and muddy.)

*Location: *Little Sippewissett Marsh, Falmouth

Learn to Quahog*Saturday September 20 at 10:00-12:00*

Join the Buzzards Bay Coalition in Marion to learn to harvest your own
quahogs. Representatives from the city of Marion- and Buzzards Bay
Coalition staff will teach you the basics of local quahogging – what you
need, how to do it, and where to go. This will be a fun and educational
event for the whole family.

Fall Equinox Sunset Walk on the Knob*Sunday September 21 at 5:30-7:00 pm*

Watch the sun set on another great summer on this guided walk to the Knob,
one of Buzzards Bay’s most beautiful and special coastal places. Offered by
the Buzzards Bay Coalition in partnership with the Quissett Harbor
Preservation Trust, Salt Pond Areas Bird Sanctuaries, and Quissett Harbor
House Land Trust.

*Oyster Farm Tour at Tabor Academy*
*Thursday October 2 at 6:00-7:00 pm*

Join Buzzards Bay Coalition staff and experts from the Oyster Farm at Tabor
Academy to learn see the art of oyster aquaculture and visit the Tabor
Marine Science Lab

*Family Friday Explorations- Wareham*

*Fridays Oct 10, 17, and 24 at 5:00-6:00*

Join us for Family Friday Explorations in Wareham to explore the region
after the summer has passed! Get your whole family exploring and learning
in the outdoors through *Family Friday Explorations*, a series of three
free outings on Friday evenings in October in Wareham offered by the
Buzzards Bay Coalition and Wareham Land Trust. Through fun games and
hands-on activities, your whole family can learn about Buzzards Bay’s
animals, plants and habitats. *Family Friday Explorations* is recommended
for families with elementary school-aged children.  We encourage you to
attend all three programs, but it is not required.

Join the Coalition and the Whaling City Camera Club
<http://www.whalingcitycameraclub.com/> for a fall nature photography walk
through The Trustees of Reservations East Over Reservation
<http://www.thetrustees.org/places-to-visit/southeast-ma/east-over.html> in
Rochester. With miles of trails through farmland, forests, and along the
Sippican River, East Over Reservation offers a beautiful natural landscape
to capture in photographs.

*Pick Your Own Cranberries*
*Saturday October 25 at 10:00 am-2:00 pm*

Come visit the Mattapoisett River Reserve and pick your own cranberries!
First join us for a tour of The Bogs from 10:00-11:00 and then participate
in a “Pick Your Own Cranberry” Adventure!
