On behalf of the North Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (NACSETAC), I am pleased to invite you to a short course titled “NRDA II: Translating Ecological Injury to Compensation.” This 2- day short course is being presented on June 10 – 11, preceding our 20th annual meeting to be held at the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. A syllabus for this course is attached along with the instructor’s bio.
This course will provide attendees with an understanding of the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) process and its applications. The course will focus on describing the difference between damage assessment and risk assessment, how models are use to estimate damages and how the economic models are translated into compensation for restoration. The course will also provide strategies for restoration and will review projects in New England where the NRDA process was applied.
All training course PowerPoint slides will be distributed to attendees at the outset of the course. Registration to the short course can be done through our website: www.nacsetac.org
